Since 1990 SUMMA has had support amounting to $2.4 million from the Exxon Education Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation of New York, National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Bureau of Indian Affairs and the MAA annual fund and operating budget. Mathematicians have leveraged the $250,000 they received through the SUMMA small grants program into $13.4 million for direct service to minority students. Many of these projects are now building collaboratives linking college faculty, key systemic reform personnel, classroom teachers, students, and parents. |
