Found Math: The Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef is a temporary exhibit on display now through April 2011, at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. The exhibit combines the mathematics of hyperbolic geometry with the delicateness of crochet. The Reef also has a community component in which citizens of local cities and regions construct their own reefs.Photos by Laura McHugh
