MAA Officer Election Results

The MAA officer election ended on October 8. As a result of the election, Hortensia Soto was elected president-elect and will begin her term Feb. 1, 2022, and will serve as president during 2023-2024, and past president in 2025. Adriana was elected vice president-elect and will begin her two-year term on Feb. 1, 2022.

Hortensia Soto continues her long history with the MAA in her new position of president-elect. She brings a strong passion for MAA's core values to the role, as well as a dedication to advancing human flourishing through mathematics.

Adriana Salerno currently serves as professor of mathematics and chair at Bates College. As vice president-elect, she hopes to help create a more inclusive and equitable math community through innovative pedagogy, equity work, and communication of mathematics.
