MAA Announces $70,000 in Dolciani Foundation Funding to Support Pre-College Math Students

Washington, D.C. – The Mathematical Association of America, on behalf of the Mary P. Dolciani Halloran Foundation, awarded $70,000 in funding to 16 organizations to develop mathematical enrichment programs for talented students in middle school or high school.

“The Mathematical Association of America is proud to support the future of mathematics and we are grateful to the Dolciani Foundation for their support. Each student has mathematical potential that can be nurtured into a mathematical interest that can impact our world through innovation,” said Michael Pearson, executive director of the Mathematical Association of America.

The funding is awarded through the MAA Dolciani Mathematics Enrichment Grants program. The program aims to interest students who are ready for more challenge in the study of mathematics and encourage them to further their mathematical studies within groups like math circles. Since the program began in 2011, it has served 5,136 students through funding to 98 institutions.
