MAA Authors selected for 'Best Writing on Mathematics'

The Mathematical Association of America is happy to announce that two articles from MAA publications have been selected in The Best Writing on Mathematics 2017, a Princeton University Press collection.

The MAA is proud that authors who publish with the MAA continue to set the bar for excellence in mathematical writing.

This year editor Mircea Pitici included selected pieces from MAA publications Math Horizons magazine and The College Mathematics Journal for the annual collection. Last year eight MAA published articles were selected for The Best Writing on Mathematics 2016.

MAA members can log in to their member profile on maa.org to read the award-winning MAA articles that were selected:
"How to find the Logarithm of Any Number Using Nothing but a Piece of String" by Viktor Blåsjö. Originally published in The College Mathematics Journal 47.2(2016): 95-100.

"Creating Symmetric Fractals" by Larry Riddle. Originally published in Math Horizons 24.4(2016): 18-21.
