Mathematika Goes Online

The journal Mathematika will be available online in January 2010. The current contents of pure and applied mathematics, as well as Mathematika's 55-year archive, will be reproduced as high-resolution, searchable PDFs.

In addition, the London Mathematical Society (LMS) will assume publication of Mathematika's print edition. Its publisher since 1954 has been University College, London.

In a Cambrigde University press release, the Mathematika editors said, "We are delighted that its re-launch as a joint venture with the LMS and Cambridge will make the process of submission and refereeing more streamlined and effective and enable us to maintain the journal's reputation in the face of growing pressures on academic staff, without compromising the journal's independence."
