First Novel Crunches the Zombie Numbers

Williams College mathematics professor Colin Adams's first novel, Zombies and Calculus, is equal parts zombie thriller and calculus book.

The book, which begins with a zombie entering a calculus class and biting a student, proceeds to demonstrate how handy a tool math can be when faced with an attack by the undead.

As for the novel's intended audience, Adams says he wrote it with a high school or college student who has had some calculus in mind. "You can't learn calculus from the book," he says.
