The May issue of The American Mathematical Monthly will reprint the 1962 Monthly paper the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences cited when announcing that Lloyd Shapley would share the 2012 Nobel Prize in Economics. Read more.

INGenIOuS Project to Think Strategically about Future Mathematics and Statistics Professionals

The INGenIOuS project, funded by the National Science Foundation, will be facilitated in collaboration with a team from Knowinnovation. With a series of online activities, including live virtual panels and forum discussions, the project will culminate in the publication of six white papers and a three-day workshop at the American Statistical Association headquarters in the Washington, D.C., area this July. Mathematics Awareness Month Focuses on the Mathematics of Sustainability

Mathematics Awareness Month April 2013 includes two nationwide initiatives: Sustainability Counts! provides K-16 math educators and students with a range of model lessons that connect mathematics and sustainability, and the Speakers Bureau is a group of mathematicians, scientists, and sustainability professionals available to speak to school audiences on the mathematics of sustainability.

16th Annual Legacy of R. L. Moore Inquiry-Based Learning Conference
