Cesare Burali-Forti born in Arezzo, Italy. He discovered the antimony of the class of all ordinals in 1897. He never held a permanent university position because he failed his libera docenze (license to teach), reportedly due to objections by some members of his examining committee to the new methods of vector analysis.
