    Cesare Burali-Forti born in Arezzo, Italy. He discovered the antimony of the class of all ordinals in 1897. He never held a permanent university position because he failed his libera docenze (license to teach), reportedly due to objections by some members of his examining committee to the new methods of vector analysis.

    Florence Nightingale died in East Wellow, England. The famous nurse used statistics to argue for better sanitary conditions in military hospitals in the Crimea and at home in England.
