This text is the result of a significant revision of Probability with Applications in Engineering, Science, and Technology. While revised, the major aspects of each text are nearly identical so refer to reviews of the first edition and second edition of the old text for a general impression of the text, interesting features, and recommendations for use in the classroom. However, this text does differ from previous iterations in some noteworthy aspects.

First, this text offers a substantial reorganization of topics. In previous versions, the core probability theory material was presented in 4 chapters. This text splits up the same material into 8 different chapters with the goal of being more easily digestible to students. Second, examples throughout the text were updated to reference published work (especially from applied fields) more completely and to be more accessible. These changes are most apparent in the chapter on statistical inference, which appears to be completely rewritten. Last, the only major content change is the inclusion of simulation-based inference as an alternative to classical inference procedures. The section focuses on the nonparametric bootstrap applied to create confidence intervals and conduct hypothesis tests.
