Mathematical Treasure: 15th-Century Manuscript from Islamic Spain

Abu Abd al-Rahman Ya’qub ibn Ayyub (fl. 1350-1387) was an Islamic mathematician. The following images are from a 1445 manuscript originating in Granada, Spain, republishing his commentary on mathematical operations involving fractions and square roots. Numerical calculation is highlighted in red ink.
