Mathematical Treasure: Arnauld's Geometry

Antoine Arnauld (1612-1694) was a Catholic priest, theologian, and mathematician. As a promoter of the Jansenist sect within the Church, he was often at odds with the hierarchy. His Nouveaux elemens de geometrie (1667) was intended to introduce a new approach to the teaching of geometry.
