Mathematical Treasure: Charles Venable’s Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra

Charles Scott Venable (1827–1900) was a mathematician, astronomer, and military officer. He is noted for authoring a series of textbooks as a University of Virginia professor. Venable’s Arithmetic was released in 1868:
