Mathematical Treasure: Complete Works of Augustin Cauchy

The Complete Works of Augustin Cauchy were compiled and published by the French Academy of Sciences beginning in 1882. The 27th and final volume was published in 1970. Volume V, for which the title page is shown below, was published in 1885. At this time, 28 years after his death, Augustin-Louis Cauchy (1788-1857) still retained his reputation as France’s greatest mathematician.
