Mathematical Treasure: Enrico Betti’s Collected Works

Enrico Betti (1823-1892) was a versatile Italian mathematician remembered for his contribution to topology of the “Betti numbers” and his contributions to theoretical physics. In 1903, a collection of his works, Opere Matematiche di Enrico Betti, was published in his honor.

Betti’s photograph serves as the frontispiece for the volume.
