Mathematical Treasure: Henrion's Military Mathematics

In 1630, Denis Henrion (also known as Pierre Hérigone, d. 1632), a French mathematician and military engineer, published L’Usage du mecometre, a manual on the use of a surveying instrument to determine distances:

Henrion's Memoires Mathematiques Recueillis et Dressez (1613) was a collection of topics from military arithmetic intended for French nobles and officers.
