Mathematical Treasure: Lucas Brunn’s Euclidis Elementa Practica and Praxis Perspectivae

Lucas Brunn (1572–1628) was a Professor of Mathematics at Wittenberg University. In 1625, he published a German-language version of Euclid’s Elements. This is an image of the title page:

In 1615, Brunn published a series of engravings titled Praxis Perspectivae that dealt with drawing projections and shadows. For demonstration purposes, he used letters of the alphabet.
