Mathematical Treasure: Two Works by Johann Lörer

Johann Lörer was a 17th-century German surveyor and/or instrument maker. In 1616, he published two books: one on surveying, the other on the use of mathematical instruments. For both books, he used the same format and title page design. Nova Instrumentum Geometricum Perfectum discussed the use of instruments:

Planemetrische Beschreibung, the second volume, focused on field measurement and the employment of the new instrument he promoted in the first volume:
