Note to the Instructor
The 11 questions in this quiz can be divided into three categories. Questions 1-5 review the search engine material presented earlier. Questions 6-7 review basic linear algebra measures. The remaining questions, 8-11, allow students to practice with the new concept of the singular value decomposition and connect its use to information retrieval.
The Answers are provided in a separate pop-up screen that the students may access at any time. However, the answers are brief and to the point so that students will mull over the reasons why these answers are correct on their own. As the instructor, you may need to fill in the details if students have trouble understanding the reasons for these answers.
