Abstract Submission for MathFest is open

MathFest will be held August 5-7, 2010 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and abstract submission is open. The deadline for a Contributed Paper Session submission is April 30. The deadline for a Student Paper Session submission is June 12. Visit the MathFest website for details.

HOM SIGMAA Student Writing Contest

The MAA Special Interest Group on the History of Mathematics is pleased to announce its annual Student Writing Contest in the History of Mathematics.

The writing contest is open to all undergraduates and the deadline is March 31, 2010. Information can be found at www.homsigmaa.org or by emailing Amy Shell-Gellasch at shella@beloit.edu.

Regional Undergraduate Mathematics Conferences

These conferences are meant to allow students to present to an audience of their peers, as well as to expand their knowledge of the wide range of theory, history, and applications of the mathematical sciences at conferences that are within their geographic region.

We invite you to apply for funds to help you host a conference on your campus. Typical grants are between $1000 and $4000. Although proposals may be submitted at any time, we request that submissions for 2011 be submitted by June 1, 2010. For additional information, visit maa.org/rumc. Dolciani Mathematics Enrichment Program

The Mary P. Dolciani Halloran Foundation has provided funding for the Mathematical Association of America to award grants for projects designed to develop mathematical enrichment programs for talented students in middle school or high school. More detailed information on the program and grant application procedure are available on http://www.maa.org/dolciani/ The deadline for applications is April 15, 2010.

Applications for 2010-2011 Project NExT Fellows are now being accepted
