MAA Governor-at- large Jacqueline Brannon Giles with Dr. Llayron L. Clarkson and Mrs. Charlotte Haynes of the Houston Independent School District's NSF funded HU-LINC program.

Governor-at -large Jacqueline Brannon Giles attended the HU-LINC meeting on October 12, 2001 to learn more about the implementation stage of the urban systemic initiative in Houston. The Houston Community College System Central College has initiated a proposal to join the coalition of colleges, universities, schools and other entities that provide technology-integrated mathematics and science professional development for elementary, middle, and high school teachers. Other schools in the coalition include the University of Houston-Downtown, Texas Southern University, Prairie View A and M University, Rice University, and many others.
