Copernicus's "Commentariolus." The catalogue of a Cracow professor's books included "a manuscript of six leaves expounding the theory of an author who asserts that the earth moves while the sun stands still." The professor was unable to identify the author because Copernicus prudently withheld his name from the manuscript.
