Mathematical Treasure: Johann Baptist Roppelt’s Praktische Abhandlung von den Gränz-Zeichen

Johann Baptist Roppelt (1744–1814) was a mathematician, cartographer and, possibly, a cleric in Bamberg. Among his publications was Praktische Abhandlung Von Den Granz-Zeichen Sammt Einer Geometrischen Unterweisung, a book on the properties of whole numbers that was published in 1775.

Roppelt’s foreword made references to the Bible.

The book also dealt with measurements, conversions, and geometry.
